Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat
On tonight’s NBA DFS slate, the matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat presents a few challenges for fantasy players. While there are no major injuries to note for the Hawks, the team faces a difficult matchup against the Heat.
The matchup could actually work in favor of those looking to get contrarian and back the Hawks — Atlanta’s players should be low-owned tonight. Trae Young and Dejounte Murray could be high-upside options for those looking to differentiate their lineups in GPPs, while more affordable players such as De’Andre Hunter, John Collins and Bogdan Bogdanovic could provide some much-needed salary relief. For those interested in taking a chance on high-upside plays, Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu both have the potential to post big numbers at their respective salaries.
However, it’s worth noting that the Miami Heat are more popular among DFS players due to their more appealing matchup. As such, players like Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro are likely to be mid-range priorities for many. Additionally, if Kyle Lowry is able to play, he projects as one of the best point-per-dollar values of the night at just $4,000 on DraftKings. Those looking for secondary value options may also want to consider players like Kevin Love, Caleb Martin, Max Strus and Gabe Vincent.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers
The matchup between the Timberwolves and Lakers presents some interesting options for fantasy players, but not without some challenges. The Timberwolves will be without key players such as Rudy Gobert, Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid. Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaylen Nowell are both questionable to play.
If Towns is able to take the court, he could be a great option at center without having to share rebounds with Rudy Gobert. Anthony Edwards should also benefit from increased spacing without Gobert on the floor. Kyle Anderson is a strong mid-range option who is expected to play significant minutes. Mike Conley, Taurean Prince, and Jaylen Nowell — if he plays — are all viable NBA DFS value options as well, but Nowell’s high ownership may give some pause.
On the other side, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both expensive, but they are also projected for less than 10 percent ownership on tonight’s two-game NBA DFS slate. While it’s tough to get there without much cheap value available, there is certainly potential for a big reward for those willing to take the risk. In the mid-range, D’Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt look like the best options, while Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Dennis Schroder and Malik Beasley could be worth a shot in larger field tournaments.
