NBA DFS Studs: The Choice Is Again Between Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid (November 15)

There is an eight-game slate tonight with limited value, but more value should open up throughout the day. That said, at the moment, it is very difficult to prioritize any of the most expensive players. Using Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections, let’s take a deeper dive into the player pool to discuss the top NBA DFS high-priced studs for today at DraftKings and FanDuel, including the usual suspects at the very top of the pricing board.

NBA DFS Studs: Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid

Stud No. 1 – Luka Doncic: Dallas Mavericks at Washington Wizards

  • DFS Salary: DraftKings: $12,100/ FanDuel: $12,000
  • Stokastic’s Point Projections: DraftKings: 59.7/ FanDuel: 56.4
  • Stokastic’s Ownership Projections: DraftKings: 2.5%/ FanDuel: 4.6%

Doncic has an amazing matchup against the Washington Wizards, who have played at the fastest pace in the NBA while allowing the sixth-most points per 100 possessions this season. Doncic has produced 1.64 DraftKings points per minute, a 34.4% usage rate and 38.2% assist rate in his 11 games this year. Kyrie Irving is questionable tonight, and if he sits, Doncic will project even better. It’s difficult to prioritize him at this point in the day because there are not many cheap value options, but that is likely to change as the day goes on.

Stud No. 2 – Joel Embiid: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics

  • DFS Salary: DraftKings: $11,600/ FanDuel: $12,400
  • Stokastic’s Point Projections: DraftKings: 57.7/ FanDuel: 56.9
  • Stokastic’s Ownership Projections: DraftKings: 4.2%/ FanDuel: 2.3%

Embiid has a very difficult matchup, as the Celtics have allowed the second-fewest points per 100 possessions this season while also playing at a bottom-10 pace. Still, Embiid is a fantasy stud, and his production has increased this year thanks to a rise in assist rate. The 76ers center has produced 1.81 DraftKings points per minute through his first 10 games and has a 37.3% usage rate, 18.7% rebounding rate and 28.8% assist rate in 34.1 minutes per game. He is difficult to afford because of the lack of value at the moment, but he is a strong option if value opens up. He is a better option on DraftKings than FanDuel because he is more expensive than Doncic on FanDuel and you can only roster one center, whereas on DraftKings he is less expensive and you can roster two centers.

There are eight games tonight so it will be important to pay attention to injury news throughout the day that could change the outlook of the slate. Be sure to check out Stokastic’s Deeper Dive and Live Before Lock shows.
