This strikeout prop is entirely too low versus the swing-and-miss-happy orioles squad. Zack Greinke is no longer a strikeout pitcher as his fastball is topping out right around 90mph. However, Greinke still goes deep in games giving himself plenty of chances for punchouts. Five strikeouts versus an Orioles squad with five batters that strikeout over 25% of the time in the projected lineup at plus odds is very doable. Greinke’s hard hit% and exit velocity allowed are still elite, and a 9% swing strike percentage in his last two starts is serviceable enough to find the necessary Ks.
Ross Stripling Over 5.5 strikeouts: +112 (FanDuel)
Ross Stripling came out of nowhere to shut down the vaunted Yankee offense in his last start. Jumping on the bandwagon against the lowly Marlins in a park that suppresses power makes sense, especially given the fact that Stripling will get to face a pitcher in this start with NL rules. Stripling had an xFIP of 2.95, 17.8% swinging strikes and threw over 100 pitches for the first time this year in his last outing. If those stats are replicated, six strikeouts should be an easy get against the Marlins in their home park.
