Ben Rasa’s Bet of the Day

1. LeBron James OVER 9.5 Rebounds

The pressure is starting to mount with a 3-0 start to my new prop betting segment, but I’ll see if I can rise to the occasion again today. We’ll start by going back to the well on the James over 9.5 rebounds prop, as we squeezed out a narrow win in Game 3. The Lakers continue to run small with Dwight Howard‘s minutes reduced to the mid-teens, which means more rebounds are up for grabs.

I don’t love that this number is juiced up to -134 from the -121 we enjoyed on Sunday, but I’m happy to live with it so long as the prop doesn’t climb to 10. LeBron is averaging 11.4 rebounds per game his past five as he continues to function as the point forward for the small-ball iteration of the Lakers. A standard unit should do the trick here.

2. Jae Crowder UNDER 12.5 Points

This isn’t just box score watching with this play, although the fact Crowder hasn’t eclipsed 12 points in any of his past four games and only once in his previous eight sure helps. The easy looks from 3 he enjoyed in the Celtics series are coming at a premium in these Finals without Goran Dragic there to open up the floor. Since a majority of what you’re fading with Crowder is his 3-point potential, I’m willing to bet against his points prop purely due to how contested his shots have become. I love the price and the number here and will be firing 1.5 units here tonight.
