NFL Futures Bets + NFL Odds: 2020 Jacksonville Jaguars Over/Under Win Total 4.5 | NFL Picks

The 2020 NFL season is coming in hot, which means your betting card for the season needs a double-check. We’re going to be going over a copious amount of NFL futures bets, NFL odds, NFL betting picks and NFL predictions for the 2020 campaign. Sportsbooks have released win totals for every team, and we’re going to examine strengths, weaknesses, schedules and make predictions on the over/under. Right now, we’re looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars are picked for the lowest win total in 2020, which is not exactly shocking. They were picked between eight and nine wins the previous two seasons but only had a combined 11 wins. The Jaguars are in store for another difficult season. The AFC South is improved, and Jacksonville has a ton of youngsters that are still developing. D.J. Chark is a stud, but can Gardner Minshew become a star quarterback? Will this be his final season as a starter in the AFC South? Jacksonville has lost Leonard Fournette and Yannick Ngakoue, who were arguably the top players on the roster. Jalen Ramsey, Blake Bortles, Allen Robinson have all left over the years. Telvin Smith was a star linebacker that retired at an early age as well. The bad news bears is what we have seen as of late and the win total suggests this could be the worst year in the history of the franchise.

Strengths

Chark has the skills to become a premier, top-10-caliber target in the near future. He has great size, speed and enough polished skills as a route runner to flourish in the NFL. The former LSU Tiger looks like he could be a future Pro Bowler. Minshew has shown that he can sling the rock and escape pressure pretty well. There will be a ton of passing attempts on this squad since they likely will be playing from behind. Laviska Shenault should also be a pleasant surprise this season. He could be a goal-line performer despite playing more wide receiver. He has great size, though he had an injury-plagued final season at Colorado. A ton of rookies should see time this season, and C.J. Henderson at corner could be the best of the bunch. This team needs all the help they could get.

Weaknesses

The backfield will be an absolute mess. The running back by committee approach will be rough. Fournette wasn’t an All-Pro performer, but he was coming off a solid season. Chris Thompson is a solid pass catcher, but we probably will see Devine Ozigbo and James Robinson get some carries as well. Most people don’t know that those are actual NFL players. It could be a struggle to move the chains and manage third-and-long scenarios is playing with fire. Eventually you will get burned and cough it up. Plenty of punts could be on the horizon as well. I have no faith in this team, and it is just a matter whether they win a couple games or get shut out.

Schedule

What wins are on the schedule that you have as automatic? I fear this team will go winless if they do not grab a few in September. Miami, Cincinnati and Detroit are three foes that could take losses against Jacksonville. It will be tough against those three, as the Dolphins and Bengals look significantly improved from a season ago. The Jaguars are on the decline and could be an underdog in all 16 games this season. After their bye week, they will surely be dogs in 10 straight. Going on the road to the Chargers and hosting the Bears might be the only two games we see them below a 6-point underdog down the stretch.

Prediction

The Jaguars will be in play to select Trevor Lawrence with their top pick. With such a brutal offseason, I don’t foresee Minshew willing his team to victory against an improved division. I feel that an 0-6 finish is very likely. This team doesn’t have the talent to compete in this division. They’ve traded away or let go of all their top players, and times have been rough as of late. It will only get rougher until they get a superstar. It could get much brighter down the road, but they still have drubbings on their slate in 2020. Take this under and pray the team doesn’t turn it on like the Dolphins did last season. There are a handful of playoff squads on that slate down the stretch, which gives them slim pickings at hitting their over. For most outlets and the NFL odds on OddsShopper, the juice is less than -130 for the under on wins. With an NFL future of 4.5 wins, it will be tough for Jacksonville just to get to four wins in a season they have already done a great job at tanking before it has even officially started.
