Yahoo Cup Fantasy Golf Picks This Week for the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open

Looking for a way to learn Fantasy Golf without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $15,000 freeroll called the PGA “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. It will go for 39 weeks, with the lowest nine weeks of scoring being dropped from your total score. Each week also features a $150-to-first contest, making every round matter just as much as the last. Let’s dig into the best Fantasy Golf picks this week and DFS Golf value plays for the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Course Preview: TPC Scottsdale

The PGA Tour returns to the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale. It has been the host of this event for quite a few years, as it boasts the loudest hole in golf. It will be more of a party atmosphere for the patrons and for the players this week, as the course and tournament provide a one-of-a-kind experience.

Top Three Fantasy Golf Picks This Week for the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open

K.H. Lee ($25)

Dubbed by many in the industry as TPC Lee, Lee had a breakout year last year, winning his first PGA Tour event. He tied for second here last year and won at TPC Twin Cities, and Lee is also working on a streak of six straight made cuts. Add all that into his low salary of just $25 this week, and Lee presents great value and upside for the price.

Gary Woodland ($23)

It is better to be early than to miss the return to form of these next two golfers. Both of them are former major winners, but they have fallen off the earth in terms of the results on the golf course over the last year-plus. Woodland returns to a course that he won at four years ago and suits his game perfectly, but his current form is certainly lacking. However, at these price levels, all he needs to do is make the weekend to provide a return on investment.

Francesco Molinari ($21)

Earning his first top 10 in almost a year, Molinari showed signs of a return to form at the American Express a few weeks ago. The once-prominent fixture on leaderboards has gone through a tremendous rough patch since moving to the U.S. over the pandemic. Finally settled now, Molinari has gotten back to focusing on his game, and the results seem to be following. He has not made the trip to the Waste Management Phoenix Open in the last couple of years but is 2-for-2 in made cuts in his last two visits, including a hole-in-one on the 16th hole. That is one he will not soon forget.
