The Rise Of Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot

I will stan for any move made by Sam Hinkie. A player formerly brought into the 76ers when he was in charge of the team, TLC is showing signs of breaking out. At the very least, he looks like a longterm role player with value due to his ability to stretch the court. Last game, he entered the Nets starting lineup and performed decently. TLC fought through foul trouble and scored 17 points in a Game 2 loss to the Raptors.

For the rest of the Nets’ postseason, which is likely two games, the Nets will have to lean heavily on Luwawu-Cabarrot. Joe Harris exited the bubble due to a family issue, leaving the Nets shorthanded on the wing. Given his recent increased role, TLC is the logical player to take on extra minutes and usage. Tyler Johnson is also a viable DFS play since he might get extra run off the bench while Caris LeVert is in line for a slight bump in usage.

Mike Conley Expected To Return For The Jazz

After missing the first two games of the playoffs, Conley is listed as probable to play. Since he missed games because of the birth of his son, I don’t see any reason to think he will face limited minutes. Conley should start at point guard and play 35 or so minutes today. On a slate without a ton of value plays, he makes for a good play in the midrange. In the bubble, Conley is averaging 31.04 DraftKings points in 32 minutes per game. Since this is the playoffs and the series is tied at a game a piece, Conley should play bigger minutes than normal.

Conley’s return has a trick-down effect on other Utah players. Donovan Mitchell is going to get less touches and likely a slight dip in usage, making him a bit overpriced for NBA DFS purposes. The player taking the biggest hit is Jordan Clarkson. A key cog in the Jazz’s rotation without Conley, Clarkson takes a hit in playing time and his price is at its highest levels since the league restarted. He’s a player to avoid while Joe Ingles and Royce O’Neale also have less upside with Conley back in action.

 Celtics In Must-Win Game

Without Ben Simmons, Philly didn’t  stand much of a chance against the Celtics. Through two games, the series is going about as expected. Not only are the 76ers down 2-0 in the series, the loses came by an average of 17.5 points. Philadelphia looks cooked, but we know that they won’t give up. This is what makes Joel Embiid a strong option to pay up for. Already playing a massive role in the playoffs, this is a spot where Embiid could push for 40 minutes with a usage rating close to 40%. On a slate without many stud plays, Embiid is my favorite expensive option. His size and skill exploits the Celtics’ biggest weakness which is a lack of size rim protection.

Patrick Beverley Doubtful To Play

For the second consecutive game, it looks like the Clippers will not have their feisty point guard. After there was some optimism he might return today, Beverley is listed doubtful on the injury report because of a calf injury. Last game, Reggie Jackson started in his place and scored 18.5 DraftKings points. He figures to garner a ton of ownership tonight with the news of Beverley’s injury breaking early. Jackson is a fine play although I think Lou Williams makes for a nice pivot. No longer playing limited minutes, Williams got 32 minutes of run without Beverley last game and scored 23 points. He also played a facilitator role on the second unit and recorded seven assists. Since the Clippers lost last game, it’s possible that Williams draws into the starting lineup instead of Jackson.
