NFL PrizePicks Pick’em Predictions | September 10

Dak Prescott M/L 0.5 Passing Yards

This Prescott free square is still going on and is still the ultimate starting point for building Cowboys-Giants PrizePicks entries. There really is not much to say about this; Dak Prescott will have at least 1 yard passing unless he is injured between now and Sunday. Without the 99.99% discount, Prescott’s PrizePicks projection is now down to 237.5 passing yards — it was at 252.5 a week ago — and Stokastic has him at 241.9 yards for Week 1 SNF. Simple observation indicates this projection is comfortably above 0.5 yards passing and even above the non-discounted number.

PrizePicks can be hard, so when they offer a free square like this, it is best to lock it in and spend more time mulling the other plays.

Dak Prescott M/L 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Just because Prescott is projecting for more than half a passing yard does not mean he is going to light it up come Sunday night. The fact of the matter is that he was one of the more careless passers in the NFL last season — yes, he finished with 23 touchdowns in just 12 games (1.92 per game), but Prescott also was on pace for over 20 interceptions had he played the full year.

There is also the matter of the development of the Giants defensive line. Their interior was lethal last season, and with the New York edge rushers gaining experience, the pass rush could be formidable and cause Prescott a lot of issues. Currently, Pick’Em Pro has Prescott throwing for multiple touchdowns 48% of the time, and though his median projection is 1.6, the expected win rate on the less here is winning out at 52%.

Isaiah Hodgins M/L 30.5 Receiving Yards

There is not much going on with the Giants receiving corps right now, and Hodgins has managed to assert himself as the potential WR1. After coming, to New York from Buffalo midway through last season, Hodgins steadily saw his snap counts rise, eventually getting to the point where he was seeing six targets from Daniel Jones — and 12 targets in one game. The result was seven games out of eight opportunities in which he had at least 31 yards receiving. And his stock in the offense does not project to dip anytime soon.

The only real potential hit to Hodgins’ target share is the addition of Darren Waller, but even then, 31 yards should be well within the range of outcomes, especially against a middling Cowboys coverage unit. Stokastic projects Hodgins for 36.0 yards on Sunday night to easily clear the 30.5 mark.
