Per our Stokastic expert DFS projections, Aaron Rodgers ($6,000) still has a higher value rating (2.58) than Baker Mayfield ($5,600) despite the slight difference in pricing. Using our free player compare tool, Rodgers projects to have 15.47 points, with Mayfield at 13.49.
With our weekly fantasy football rankings, neither Aaron Rodgers (No. 20 of all QBs) or Baker Mayfield (No. 31) are viewed as premier options this week.
Simply put, Rodgers has a higher ceiling than Mayfield in this matchup, even after the heroics Mayfield was able to pull off last week. Although he was claimed by the Rams just about 48 hours before their Week 14 Thursday night Football matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders, Mayfield was thrusted into duty. While the Raiders led 16-3 in the fourth quarter, Mayfield led a most unexpected comeback, Â capping it by leading the Rams down the field for a 98-yard game-winning touchdown drive.
We can’t pin all of Mayfield’s Week 14 success on beginner’s luck, but it’s certainly hard to see the Rams offense booming for the remainder of the season. The Rams will be without top two receivers, Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson, and haven’t been able to get much production out of Ben Skowronek and Van Jefferson all season long. They currently rank 31st in the NFL with just 16.8 PPG. While Baker Mayfield provided the Rams with their most exciting win in a year to forget, we can’t expect him to make this offense start to click suddenly.
Even though Aaron Rodgers has also struggled this season, he’s the slightly better play over Baker Mayfield on Monday night.
