NFL DFS Picks: Divisional Round | Giants-Eagles
New York Giants: 20.75 Points
Quarterback
The Stokastic NFL DFS projections have Daniel Jones as the QB5, though he compares favorably with the fantasy points leaders from a points-per-dollar perspective. Last week, Jones became the first quarterback to have 300 passing yards, two touchdowns and 70 rushing yards in a playoff game.
In Week 18 against Philadelphia, New York sent out the understudies, so the last time the Eagles faced Jones was in a Week 14 48-22 drubbing that saw backup Tyrod Taylor enter in the second half. Philadelphia boasts the best passing DVOA per Football Outsiders, though Jones’ scrambling ability does give him a bit of a wild card up his sleeve.
Running Back
Saquon Barkley managed to play 16 games for the first time since his rookie season of 2018. This was also his best statistical performance since then. Barkley was fourth in the NFL this season with 82.0 rushing yards per game, and his 62 first-down runs, nine runs of 20 or more yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns all ranked inside the top 10.
Only four times this season did the Eagles allow a running back to gain more than 75 yards on the ground, but Barkley is an excellent receiver who should be active in all game situations. Matt Breida is the main backup, though he will see only a handful of opportunities as long as Barkley is healthy.

Wide Receiver
Over the latter half of the season, after Kadarius Toney was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and Wan’Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard were lost to injury, the Giants finally landed on their preferred three-wideout set. It includes Darius Slayton, Richie James and Isaiah Hodgins, who was claimed off waivers from the Buffalo Bills in November. Yes, Kenny Golladay is still around, but it’s been years since he’s had a relevant moment.
Avonte Maddox usually covers slot receivers for Philadelphia but is out for a third consecutive game with a toe injury. That is a bonus for James, who typically sees the most routes from that position. Slayton has a favorable salary and should be on the field for 90% of the snaps. Hodgins has flashed the biggest upside but has the highest salary, and this group has very similar projections.
Tight End
Rookie Daniel Bellinger has dominated the snaps and targets when healthy, while veteran Nick Vannett is the main backup. Chris Myarick and Lawrence Cager have seen limited action, though Cager did rack up 10 of his 18 targets in the final game of the regular season when New York was rolling out the reserve players in droves.
Defense/Special Teams
New York should be able to contribute a few sacks, but the turnovers have been few and far between with just five in the last eight games.

Philadelphia Eagles: 27.25 Points
Quarterback
The main question with Jalen Hurts is of course all about the health of his shoulder. He was injured in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears and sat out the next two weeks before returning for the final regular-season game as a test run. Though he looked a little rusty/uncomfortable, he has since had two more weeks off and has stated he feels ready for Saturday.
Hurts tends to do his best work when he is getting designed runs, and his 13 rushing touchdowns were the second most in the NFL, behind only the 17 of Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams. If we do not see Hurts getting designed runs, then start to panic, though it will be too late to change up rosters. He averaged 246.7 passing yards per game, which was just outside the top 10, as were his 22 touchdown passes.
Running Back
Miles Sanders is the clear lead back, though his receiving volume has declined ever since his rookie season, and despite playing in all 17 games this season had career lows of 26 targets, 20 receptions and 78 yards. Fortunately, he did have a stellar 1,269 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns, however it seems he is now a one-trick pony.
Kenneth Gainwell has become the main backup, and even in limited snaps, he led the backfield with 29 targets. He should see half a dozen opportunities Saturday and is live for a touchdown. The Eagles love Boston Scott, but he does not get many touches, even though he has shown to be capable in spot duty over the years.

Wide Receiver
A.J. Brown was a tremendous addition this offseason for the Eagles, and along with DeVonta Smith forms one of the more potent one-two receiving combinations in the NFL. Smith played 80 more snaps, but Brown had 10 more targets and turned them into 300 more yards and four additional touchdowns with his downfield proclivity. Brown is barely 10% more than his counterpart on DraftKings and FanDuel but also brings proportionally more popularity.
Quez Watkins had at least five targets in five of the last seven games and has a favorable salary. Zach Pascal will be lucky to see a target or two but is still worthy of consideration as a discount dandy on DraftKings ($800).
Tight End
Dallas Goedert stands out on both DraftKings and FanDuel with a hefty discount to the wideouts and a median projection that is just a couple points behind Smith. Jack Stoll (14) and Grant Calcaterra (9) have one-third of the targets Goedert (69) has on the season, even though he missed five weeks.
Defense/Special Teams
New York gives up sacks in bunches with at least three in six of the last eight games. To his credit, Jones has dramatically reduced his interception rate and suffered only five for the entire season.

Divisional Round SNF Giants-Eagles Single-Game DFS Strategy
The rankings below are best utilized for building out single-entry and three-max lineups, and for head-to-head and three-man formats. They provide a nice barometer for player value. However, those taking the MME approach should remember that correlation is key. This means matching a receiver or two with a quarterback in the Captain/MVP slot. That also works conversely, pairing a Captain/MVP pass catcher with his quarterback.
Divisional Round Giants-Eagles DFS Rankings
Top 10 NFL DFS Showdown Picks for Giants-Eagles
- Jalen Hurts:Â Soooooo good, but at this lofty salary, he really needs multiple scores, with at least one on the ground.
- Daniel Jones:Â Danny Dimes certainly makes sense (pun intended!).
- Dallas Goedert:Â The key building block for tonight’s single-game slate.
- Saquon Barkley: The volume should be there … along with the Philly defense.
- DeVonta Smith:Â Take the savings over Brown.
- A.J. Brown: Play him and Smith in the same lineups without any trepidation.
- Darius Slayton:Â Slightest of edges over his compadres.
- Jake Elliott:Â Last year’s NFC Pro Bowl kicker, he led the NFL with 51 of 53 PATs and was 5 of 6 from beyond 50 yards.
- Graham Gano:Â 20 of 25 from 50 yards or deeper over the past three seasons.
- Quez Watkins:Â Savings does help, particularly with full-PPR on DraftKings.
Secondary NFL DFS Showdown Picks for Giants-Eagles
- Richie James and Isaiah Hodgins:Â James gets the nod on DraftKings, Hodgins on FanDuel in half-PPR, but with the higher touchdown potential. James also returns punts.
- Miles Sanders:Â Salary indicative of a running back who sees consistent targets, but that is not his role in the offense these days.
- Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott:Â Rolling the dice and hoping one of them gets some scraps, while Sanders is mediocre, could actually be a viable path to differentiation and production. The reallocated salary cap upgrades would need to hit as well. Scott returns kickoffs.
- Philadelphia D/ST:Â The crowd is going to be wild Saturday night.
- Daniel Bellinger:Â The rookie has shown upside when healthy.
Lottery Ticket NFL DFS Showdown Picks for Giants-Eagles
- New York D/ST: This team on both sides of the ball is actually one that can give Philadelphia fits, if everything falls into place.
- Matt Breida: Does have stand-alone value on DraftKings ($1,600) with full-PPR scoring, in play on FanDuel ($6,500) but needs to carve out more than a handful of touches.
- Lawrence Cager and Zach Pascal: Usually get a target or two, but actual production is another story.
- Gary Brightwell:Â Returns kickoffs, may not get an offensive snap.
- Britain Covey:Â Returns punts, highly unlikely to get on the field as a wide receiver.
- Kenny Golladay, Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Marcus Johnson: If they are the reason we lose, it was just not meant to be.
