NFL DFS: Sunday’s Preseason Week 2 Value Plays, Sleepers & NFL DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel (August 21)

Week 2 of the NFL Preseason continues with two slates on Sunday (Aug. 21, 2022). Like Week 1, the most important factor in preseason DFS is projecting playing time. This piece will dig into the roster of each team and pinpoint exactly where that value might come from and be the ultimate guide for making the best NFL DFS picks tonight for DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.

Philadelphia Eagles

QB1 – Jalen Hurts – Huts completed all six of his passes for 80 yards and one touchdown on eight snaps. There hasn’t been a decision on the starters in Week 2.

QB2 – Gardner Minshew – Minshew played 28 snaps, completing eight of 12 passes for 81 yards.

QB3 – Reid Sinnett – Sinnett started to receive some reps with the second team earlier in camp before playing 34 snaps and completing 9 of 17 passes for 81 yards and one touchdown.

QB4 – Carson Strong – Strong is an undrafted free agent out of Nevada. He is 6-foot-3, 226 and non-mobile. Strong is getting cut.

RB1 – Miles Sanders – Sanders missed practice on Aug. 19 and won’t play here.

RB2 – Boston Scott – Scott returned to practice on Aug. 19 after dealing with a concussion. He didn’t play in Week 1.

RB3 – Kenneth Gainwell – Gainwell has a hip issue that limited him early in camp, but he is back practicing in full. He did not play in Week 1.

RB4 – Jason Huntley – Huntley played 41 snaps in Week 1. He led the team with 16 carries for 48 yards and one touchdown. He also caught four of five targets for another 39 yards.

RB5 – Kennedy Brooks – Brooks is an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma. He is 5-foot-11, 209 pounds and ran a 4.59 40-yard dash. He rushed for 3,320 yard in three years, but only caught 29 career passes. Brooks played 21 snaps in Week 1.

RB6 – DeAndre Torrey – signed Aug. 11.

WR1 – A.J. Brown – Brown played eight snaps in Week 1, but a decision hasn’t been made on the starters in Week 2.

WR2 – Devonta Smith – Smith didn’t play in Week 1 after dealing with an injury. He is back practicing now.

WR3 – Quez Watkins – Watkins played 23 snaps and ran 16 routes. He caught two of three targets for 32 yards.

WR4 – Zach Pascal – Pascal played 24 snaps and ran 12 routes. He caught two of four targets for 41 yards.

WR5 – Jalen Reagor – Reagor ran 19 routes and caught three of four targets for 26 yards.

WR6 – Greg Ward – Ward missed practice Aug. 19 with a toe injury. He didn’t play in Week 1.

WR7 – Britain Covey – Covey is an undrafted free agent out of Utah. He is 5-foot-8, 170 pounds and ran a 4.43 40-yard dash. Covey has been getting some runs with the first team due to injuries. He is also making a case to be the primary kick returner. Covey played 24 snaps and ran 15 routes in Week 1.

WR8 – John Hightower – Hightower practiced on a limited basis on Aug. 16 after missing Week 1.

WR9 – Deon Cain – Cain has been working with Minshew. He played 40 snaps and ran 27 routes in Week 1. Cain only caught one of four targets for 14 yards.

WR10 – Devon Allen – Allen is an undrafted free agent out of Oregon. He is 6-foot-0, 185 pounds and ran a 4.35 40-yard dash. Allen has played with the Sinnett group and only played eight snaps in Week 1.

WR11 – Lance Lenoir – Lenoir caught two of three targets for 11 yards with Buffalo last preseason. He most recently led the Michigan Panthers of the USFL in receiving. Lenoir played 31 snaps and ran 22 routes.

TE1- Dallas Goedert – Goedert played eight snaps with the first team in Week 1.

TE2 – Jack Stoll – Stoll played 29 snaps and ran 12 routes.

TE3 – Tyree Jackson – Jackson remains on PUP.

TE4 – Grant Calcaterra – Calcaterra was the 199th pick of the sixth round out of SMU/Oklahoma. Calcaterra is 6-foot-4, 241 pounds and ran a 4.62 40-yard dash. Calcaterra returned to practice Aug. 19.

TE5 – Richard Rodgers – Rodgers played 16 snaps and ran three routes.

TE6 – Noah Togiai – Togiai is 6-foot-4, 246 pounds and undrafted free agent out of Oregon State in 2020. He caught 44 balls for 404 yards in his final season. He has been running with the Minshew group and played 35 snaps/15 routes in Week 1.

K1 – Jake Elliott

Cleveland Browns

QB1 – Deshaun Watson – Watson played 9 snaps in Week 1, completing one of five passes for 7 yards.

QB2 – Jacoby Brissett – Brissett did not play in Week 1.

QB3 – Joshua Dobbs – Dobbs played 29 snaps in Week 1, completing 10 of 13 passes for 108 yards and one touchdown.

QB4 – Josh Rosen – Rosen played 17 snaps in Week 1, completing six of seven passes for 56 yards.

RB1 – Nick Chubb – Chubb did not play in Week 1.

RB2 – Kareem Hunt – Hunt did not play in Week 1.

RB3 – D’Ernest Johnson – Johnson played five snaps in Week 1.

RB4 – Demetric Felton – Felton has been practicing at slot receiver and running back. He played seven snaps in Week 1.

RB5 – Jerome Ford – Ford was the 156th pick in the fifth round out of Cincinnati. He is 5-foot-11, 210 pounds and rushed for 1,319 yards on 215 carries, while catching 21 passes. Ford played 21 snaps in Week 1. He rushed 10 times for 57 yards and one touchdown. Ford also caught four of five targets for 45 yards and one touchdown.

RB6 – John Kelly – Kelly played 29 snaps in Week 1. He rushed 10 times for 20 yards. He also caught two of three targets for 14 yards.

RB7 – Johnny Stanton – Fullback. Stanton played 18 snaps and ran four routes in Week 1.

WR1 – Amari Cooper – Cooper did not play in Week 1.

WR2 – Donovan Peoples-Jones – Peoples-Jones played ran five routes

WR3 – David Bell – Bell was the 99th pick in the third round coming out of Purdue. He is 6-foot-1, 212 pounds and caught 93 balls for 1,286 yards last year. He was a true freshman breakout, but he ran a 4.60 40-yard dash, dropping him to the third round. Bell had been dealing with a stress fracture in his foot, but he has been practicing. He will make his preseason debut here.

WR4 – Anthony Schwartz – Schwartz ran five routes and went catchless on three targets.

WR5 – Javon Wims – Wims ran 13 routes.

WR6 – Ja’Marcus Bradley – Bradley ran 11 routes.

WR7 – Mike Woods – Woods was drafted 203rd overall in the sixth round out of Oklahoma. Woods is 6-foot-1, 204 pounds and caught 35 passes for 400 yards in his final season. Woods has a hamstring injury and will “miss some time.” He hasn’t practiced as of Aug. 19.

WR8 – Mike Harley – Harley is an undrafted free agent out of Miami. He is 5-foot-11, 182 pounds and caught 57 balls for 543 yards last year. Harley ran 15 routes.

WR9 – Daylen Baldwin – Signed Aug. 4, but Baldwin ran eight routes in Week 1. He caught all three targets for 25 yards.

TE1- David Njoku – Njoku ran five routes.

TE2 – Harrison Bryant – Bryant ran three routes.

TE3 – Miller Forristall – Forristall ran 10 routes.

TE4 – Nakia Griffin-Stewart – Griffin-Stewart ran eight routes, but he caught three of four targets for 37 yards.

TE5 – Zaire Mitchell-Paden – Mitchell-Paden is an undrafted free agent out of FAU. He is 6-foot-5, 267 pounds He only caught 9 balls for 90 yards, functioning mostly as a blocker, but he ran 9 routes in Week 1.

TE6 – Marcus Santos-Silva – Santos-Silva played college basketball at Texas Tech. His best skill in college was fouling out. He only played three snaps in Week 1.

K1- Cade York

Cincinnati Bengals

QB1 – Joe Burrow – Burrow has been working his way back from appendicitis. He returned to 11 on 11 on Aug. 17.

QB2 – Brandon Allen – Allen suffered a concussion in Week 1 after playing eight snaps.

QB3 – Jake Browning – Browning played 48 snaps in Week 1, completing 13 of 24 passes for 190 yards. He also rushed four times for 14 yards.

QB4 – Drew Plitt – Plitt is an undrafted free agent out of Ball State. He is somewhat mobile with 131 rushing yards on 81 attempts last year. Plitt played 11 snaps in Week 1, completing all six of his passes for 76 yards and one touchdown.

RB1 – Joe Mixon – Mixon did not play in Week 1.

RB2 – Samaje Perine – Perine was called a safety blanket in the pass game. He is also allegedly ahead of Evans right now. Perine came off PUP in July and Cincinnati has taken a cautious approach with him in the preseason so far.

RB3 – Chris Evans – Evans played 28 snaps in Week 1. He rushed eight times for -3 yards, but he caught his only target.

RB4 – Trayveon Williams – Williams played 20 snaps in Week 1. He carried six times for 14 yards and caught his only target.

RB5 – Jacques Patrick – Patrick played 18 snaps in Week 1. He led the team with 9 carries for 30 rushing yards and one touchdown. He also caught both targets for 39 yards.

WR1 – Ja’Marr Chase – Chase did not play in Week 1.

WR2 – Tee Higgins – Higgins is coming off offseason shoulder surgery and hopes to be fully cleared at the end of camp.

WR3 – Tyler Boyd – Boyd did not play in Week 1.

WR4 – Trent Taylor – Taylor, Williams, Irwin and Lassiter are the primary returner candidates. He ran 15 routes and caught all four of his targets for 74 yards.

WR5 – Mike Thomas – Thomas did not play in Week 1.

WR6 – Stanley Morgan – Morgan ran 9 routes in Week 1.

WR7 – Trenton Irwin – Irwin ran 21 routes in Week 1 and caught two of three targets for 13 yards.

WR8 – Kwamie Lassiter – Lassiter is an undrafted free agent out of Kansas. He is 5-foot-11, 185 pounds. Lassiter ran 28 routes in Week 1, but he only caught one of two targets for 5 yards.

WR9 – Kendric Pryor – He is an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin. He is 5-foot-11, 183 pounds. Pryor ran 17 routes in Week 1, catching four of seven targets for 89 yards and one touchdown.

WR10 – Jaivon Heiligh – He is an undrafted free agent out of Coastal Carolina. He is 6-foot-0, 202 pounds. Heiligh ran 15 routes in Week 1.

WR11 – Jack Sorenson – He is an undrafted free agent out of Miami Ohio. He is 6-foot-0, 189 pounds. Sorenson ran 16 routes in Week 1 and caught two of three targets for 6 yards.

TE1- Hayden Hurst – Hurst did not play in Week 1.

TE2 – Drew Sample – Drew sample is week to week with a knee injury.

TE3 – Mitchell Wilcox – Wilcox suffered an injury in Week 1 and had a boot on his foot as of Aug. 14.

TE4 – Thaddeus Moss – Moss played 27 snaps and ran 18 routes. He caught three of four targets for 29 yards.

TE5 – Scotty Washington – He is a former wide receiver. He played eight snaps and ran eight routes.

TE6 – Justin Rigg – He is an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky. He is 6-foot-6, 263 pounds and mostly a blocker. He ran three routes on 23 snaps in Week 1.

TE7 – Nick Eubanks – Eubanks ran eight routes in Week 1.

K1 – Evan McPherson

New York Giants

QB1 – Daniel Jones – Jones is expected to play a bit in preseason Week 2. He played 18 snaps in Week 1, completing six of 10 passes for 69 yards, while rushing once.

QB2 – Tyrod Taylor – Taylor played 33 snaps in Week 1, completing 13 of 21 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed once.

QB3 – Davis Webb – Webb played 34 snaps in Week 1, He completed eight of 16 passes for 51 yards.

RB1 – Saquon Barkley – Barkley played 12 snaps in Week 1.

RB2 – Matt Breida – Breida rushed 16 times for 61 yards last year and caught five of six targets for 43 yards. Breida received 5/31 snaps with the first team. Breida has been dealing with an injury and he won’t play here.

RB3 – Antonio Williams– Williams played 19 snaps in Week 1. He ran 9 times for 61 yards and one touchdown, while catching his only target.

RB4 – Gary Brightwell – Brightwell is dealing with an undisclosed injury and he will not play here.

RB5 – Jashaun Corbin – Corbin is an undrafted free agent out of Florida State. He is 5-foot-11, 202 pounds and ran a 4.59 40-yard dash. Corbin rushed for 887 yards and caught 25 passes last year. Corbin has been running with the third string, but he played 31 snaps in Week 1. He rushed six times for 23 yards and caught five of six targets for 28 yards.

RB6 – Sandro Platzgummer – Platzgummer played three snaps in Week 1. He is a special teams candidate.

WR1 – Kadarius Toney – Toney played on 23/31 first team snaps in the Giants’ scrimmage. He has received maintenance days all training camp and won’t play much if at all. Toney did return to individual drill on Aug. 16, but he won’t play in Week 2.

WR2 – Kenny Golladay – Golladay ran 10 routes, catching one of three targets for 6 yards.

WR3 – Wan’Dale Robinson – Robinson was the 43rd pick in the second round out of Kentucky/Nebraska. He is 5-foot-8, 178 pounds and ran a 4.40 40-yard dash. Robinson ran 9 routes.

WR4 – Sterling Shepard – Shepard is rehabbing a torn Achilles.

WR5 – Richie James – James ran 22 routes, catching three of five targets for 44 yards and one touchdown.

WR6 – Collin Johnson – Johnson ran 28 routes, catching seven of 9 targets for 82 yards.

WR7 – C.J. Board – Board ran 19 routes.

WR8 – Darius Slayton – Slayton has been dealing with injury and was ruled out for Week 2.

WR9 – David Sills – Sills returned to practice in some capacity on Aug. 15.

WR10 – Keelan Doss – Doss ran 17 routes, catching one of five targets for 6 yards.

WR11 – Alex Bachman – Bachman ran 14 routes.

WR12 – Marcus Kemp – Kemp ran 12 routes, going catchless on three targets.

TE1- Daniel Bellinger – Bellinger was the 112th pick in the fourth round out of San Diego State. He is 6-foot-5, 253 pounds and ran a 4.63 40-yard dash. Bellinger played 41 snaps and ran 23 routes. He only saw one target for his efforts.

TE2 – Ricky Seals-Jones – Seals-Jones caught four of six targets for 32 yards with Washington last year. He has missed multiple practices and won’t play here.

TE3 – Chris Myarick – Myarick played 19 snaps and ran 9 routes.

TE4 – Jordan Akins – Akins played 16 snaps and ran five routes.

TE5 – Austin Allen – Allen is an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska. He is 6-foot-8, 253 pounds and ran a 4.83. Allen played 24 snaps and ran 11 routes.

K1 – Graham Gano

Baltimore Ravens

QB1 – Lamar Jackson – Jackson is out for the preseason Week 1.

QB2 – Tyler Huntley – Huntley played 35 snaps, completing 16 of 18 passes for 109 yards and one touchdown.

QB3 – Anthony Brown – Brown is an undrafted free agent out of Oregon. He completed 64.1% of his passes for 2,989 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Brown also rushed 151 times for 658 rushing yards and 9 scores in 2021. He played 28 snaps in Week 1, completing 10 of 15 passes for 117 yards.

RB1 – J.K. Dobbins – Dobbins tore his ACL last year. He returned to practice on Aug. 8, but he won’t play in the preseason

RB2 – Gus Edwards – Edwards tore his ACL last year.

RB3 – Mike Davis – Davis played 10 snaps in Week 1, rushing five times for 22 yards and one touchdown.

RB4 – Justice Hill – Hill played 15 snaps in Week 1, rushing three times for 11 yards.

RB5 – Tyler Badie – Badie was the 197th pick in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Missouri. He is 5-foot-8, 197 pounds and profiles as a pass catching back. Badie rushed 268 times for 1,604 yards and caught 54 passes for 330 yards in 2021. He has worked with the Jackson group in camp. He also played 20 snaps in Week 1, rushing six times for 19 yards.

RB6 – Nate McCrary – McCray rushed 42 times for 163 yards and a score with Baltimore last year. He came out of Saginaw Valley State in 2021. McCrary played 16 snaps in Week 1, rushing five times for 31 yards.

RB8 – Patrick Ricard – Fullback.

RB9 – Ben Mason – Fullback, but he played 24 snaps and ran eight routes in Week 1. He actually saw two targets and reeled them both in.

WR1 – Rashod Bateman – Bateman didn’t play in Week 1, but he has been practicing.

WR2 – James Proche – Proche has been playing with the Lamar Jackson group when healthy. He most recently missed practice on Aug. 17.

WR3 – Devin DuvernayDuvernay returned to practice from a thigh injury last week. He didn’t play in Week 1, but he should be returning to game action here.

WR4 – Tylan Wallace – Wallace missed practice on Aug. 17.

WR5 – Jaylon Moore – Moore ran 15 routes in Week 1, catching both targets for 15 yards.

WR6 – Shemar Bridges – Bridges is an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State. He is 6-foot-5, 210 pounds and caught 28 balls for 292 yards in four games last year. Beat reporter Jeff Zrebiec noted that Bridges has been awesome in camp and will be battling Jaylon Moore for the WR5 role. He ran 18 routes in Week 1, catching four of five targets for 62 yards and one touchdown.

WR7 – Binjimen Victor – Victor has been playing with the Lamar Jackson/Tyler Huntley group. He ran 13 routes in Week 1, catching four of five targets for 30 yards.

WR8 – Slade Bolden – Bolden is an undrafted free agent out of Alabama. He is 5-foot-11, 193 pounds and caught 42 balls for 408 yards in his final season. Bolden has practiced with Huntley, but he missed Week 1 with injury. He has since returned to practice.

WR9 – Makai Polk – Polk is an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State. He is 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and caught 105 balls for 1,046 yards last year. Polk ran 29 routes in Week 1, catching six of eight targets for 43 yards.

WR10 – Bailey Gaither – Gaither was a 2021 undrafted free agent out of San Jose State. He played with the Packers last year, before playing with the Pittsburgh Maulers in the USFL. He didn’t play in Week 1, but he has returned to practice.

WR11 – Raleigh Webb – Webb is an undrafted free agent out of Citadel. He is 6-foot-2, 204 pounds and caught 25 balls for 536 yards in 11 games last year. He ran 20 routes in Week 1, catching one of two targets for 34 yards.

WR12 – Demarcus Robinson – signed Aug. 19.

TE1- Mark Andrews – Andrews is out for the preseason Week 1.

TE2 – Nick Boyle – Boyle is practicing limited days. He said he wants to play in the preseason, but we will see if Harbaugh allows that. He missed practice Aug. 16

TE3 – Josh Oliver – Oliver played 38 snaps and ran 20 routes in Week 1, catching both targets for 14 yards.

TE4 – Charlie Kolar – not practicing (sports hernia)

TE5 – Isaiah Likely – Likely was the 139th pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He is 6-foot-5, 245 pounds and caught 59 balls for 912 yards with Coastal Carolina last year. He played 27 snaps and ran 17 routes in Week 1, catching all four of his targets for 44 yards.

TE6 – Tony Poljan – Poljan played 21 snaps and ran 11 routes in Week 1.

K1 – Justin Tucker

Arizona Cardinals

QB1 – Kyler Murray – Murray isn’t expected to play.

QB2 – Colt McCoy – McCoy is dealing with arm soreness and hasn’t practiced as of Aug. 18.

QB3 – Trace McSorley – McSorley played 42 snaps, completing 13 of 22 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed four times for 32 yards.

QB4 – Jarrett Guarantano – Guarantano played 24 snaps, completing seven of 10 passes for 54 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed four times for 10 yards.

RB1 – James Conner – Conner did not play last preseason and isn’t expected to play here.

RB2 – Eno Benjamin – Benjamin has received some hype as the potential replacement for Edmonds in pass catching situations. He played eight snaps in Week 1, carrying five times for 14 yards.

RB3 – Darrel Williams – He is 27 years old and rushed 144 times for 558 yards last regular season. He also caught 47 of 57 targets for another 452 yards with Kansas City last year. Williams returned to practice on Aug. 9, but he did not play in Week 1.

RB4 – Jonathan Ward – Ward played 26 snaps, carrying six times for 15 yards. He also caught both targets for 26 yards.

RB5 – Keaontay Ingram – Ingram was the 202nd pick in the sixth round out of USC/Texas. He is 6-foot-0, 221 pounds and ran a 4.53 40-yard dash. He rushed 156 times for 911 yards and caught 22 passes in his final year with USC. Ingram has had a good camp, but he is still behind Ward, according to beat reporters. He played 16 snaps in Week 1, carrying seven times for 27 yards and one touchdown. Ingram also caught both targets for 18 yards.

RB6 – T.J. Pledger– Pledger is an undrafted free agent out of Utah/Oklahoma. He is 5-foot-9, 196 pounds and ran a 4.49 40-yard dash. He rushed 104 times for 694 yards and caught 10 passes last year. Pledger played five snaps in Week 1.

WR1 – DeAndre Hopkins – Hopkins did not play in Week 1.

WR2 – Marquise Brown – Brown did not play in Week 1.

WR3 – A.J. Green – Green did not play in Week 1.

WR4 – Rondale Moore – Moore did not play in Week 1.

WR5 – Antoine Wesley – Wesley hurt his groin earlier in camp and the team is waiting for it to “settle down” before deciding if he needs surgery. He did not play in Week 1.

WR6 – Andy Isabella – Isabella ran 37 routes, catching four of seven targets for 57 yards.

WR7 – Andre Baccellia – Baccellia hasn’t practiced this week, leading up to preseason Week 2.

WR8 – Greg Dortch – Dortch ran 26 routes, catching four of eight targets for 53 yards.

WR9 – Victor Bolden – Bolden ran seven routes.

WR10 – Jontre Kirklin – Kirklin is an undrafted free agent out of LSU. He is 6-foot-0, 184 pounds and ran a 4.52 40-yard dash. Kirklin ran 12 routes.

WR11 – JaVonta Payton – Payton is an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee. He is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and ran a 4.45 40-yard dash. Payton ran four routes.

WR12 – Marcell Ateman – Ateman ran 22 routes in Week 1. He caught one of three targets for 8 yards.

TE1- Zach Ertz – Ertz did not play in Week 1.

TE2 – Maxx Williams – Williams just came off PUP and did not play in Week 1.

TE3 – Trey McBride – McBride was the 55th pick in the second round out of Colorado State. He is 6-foot-4, 246 pounds and ran a 4.54 40-yard dash. He caught 90 passes for 1,121 yards in his final year. McBride missed Week 1, but he will make his debut in Week 2.

TE4 – Stephen Anderson – Anderson hasn’t practiced this week, leading up to preseason Week 2.

TE5 – Chris Pierce – Pierce is an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt. He is 6-foot-4, 235 pounds and ran a 4.42 40-yard dash. Pierce played 19 snaps and ran 18 routes.

TE6 – Bernhard Seikovits – Seikovits played 22 snaps and ran six routes.

TE7 – Josh Hokit – Signed Aug. 18. He is a fullback/tight end hybrid.
