The season rolls on in the NFL, with more teams on byes and the hierarchy starting to take shape. Some teams are on the cusp of total collapse, while others look to put themselves in position for a top seed. For survivor, it’s a constant battle to move on each week without being too aggressive and leaving no quality teams available for future weeks. Week 7 is that same dilemma, but there are several options that make sense.
NFL Survivor Picks and Recap | Week 7
Week 6 NFL Survivor Pool Recap
Bears (-1 vs. Commanders)
Last week, the Bears on Thursday Night Football were an extreme option for people in pools with thousands of people. Needing to use the majority of teams forces survivor players to plan ahead, and the Bears are rarely a coin toss. Unfortunately, they were inches short of scoring the go-ahead touchdown, and it’s hard to imagine the Bears being relevant in survivor much going forward.
Packers (-7.5 vs. Jets)
Returning home was supposed to be the get-right spot for Green Bay after a disappointing London experience. Don’t tell the Jets that, as they went into Lambeau and absolutely crushed the Packers despite being a touchdown underdog. It’s officially panic mode in Green Bay, and this was the big loss last week in survivor. Many leagues lost entries because of people backing the Packers, and going forward they are a tough team to target given the issues.
Rams (-10 vs. Carolina)
The Rams were the super conservative pick last week, and they got the job done. Despite a sluggish start, Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense were able to find success against a Carolina team headed for the basement of the league. Los Angeles was the biggest favorite on the slate, and it was overall a pretty smooth outcome for its backers.

Week 7 NFL Survivor Pool Picks
Buccaneers (-10.5 at Panthers)
Similar to last week, picking against Carolina seems to be the obvious move. Tampa Bay has issues given they just dropped a game to the Kenny Pickett-led Steelers, and even after he got hurt, things didn’t get much better. Tampa’s offense is struggling, and to compete in the NFC, it needs to correct things going forward. All these problems shouldn’t really matter against a Panthers team that has one win and is getting worse week over week. The biggest spread on the schedule has to put Tampa Bay in the conversation.
Raiders (-6.5 vs. Texans)
The Las Vegas Raiders have disappointed this year, but there is a lot of football left. For them to get back in the mix, it starts this week at home against a bad Texans team. The Raiders are near a touchdown favorite and should be able to lean heavily on the ground game with Josh Jacobs. The Texans are one of the worst run defenses in the league, and Jacobs is coming off two straight monster weeks. With a tough division and still questions surrounding them, it is OK to get rid of the Raiders in this spot.
Week 7 NFL Survivor Pick: Patriots
Patriots (-7.5 vs. Bears)
New England welcomes the Bears into Foxborough on Monday Night Football. Justin Fields and the Chicago passing game have issues, and a matchup with the Patriots isn’t going to help much. Add in that Bailey Zappe clearly has something going for the New England offense, and the 7.5-point spread makes sense.
Equally important is their division being clearly better than expected. Normally in survivor, one would wait to use the Patriots until they welcome the Jets, but that seems like a dangerous strategy given the improvements of that squad. New England should beat the Bears in relatively easy fashion in Week 7.
