It took me a little while to digest the card on Super Tuesday, but a couple of late-night spots are jumping out to me this week in some key games. I’ve looked over the CBB odds, and I’ve come to a spot I like with this college basketball betting pick for Tuesday, Dec. 22 with the Purdue – Iowa game.

Purdue vs. Iowa: Iowa OVER 80 (-120)
I’ve gone to a lot of analytics and projections sites I trust and seen picks on this game coming in on both sides from good bettors all day. It’s a tough game to bet. While I’d lean to Iowa on the spread here, one thing has been consistent whether the Hawkeyes are covering or not: They score.
Through seven games, Iowa is averaging 98.7 points per game and has scored no fewer than 88 points in a single game — that came in a loss to No. 1 on Gonzaga on Saturday. The Hawkeyes are lethal from deep, have Luka Garza around the rim and play at a torrent pace.
Purdue has only allowed over 80 points once this season but has been giving up points when it plays legitimate competition. The Boilermakers gave up 81 to Clemson in November and also allowed 78 to Notre Dame in their last game. Ohio State is the only real test they were able to limit, but the Buckeyes scored 60 points in that game without two of their best players, one being their leading scorer. I trust Iowa to keep doing what it does and run up the scoreboard in this one. This is my strongest spot of the night, and I’ll be betting a bit heavier here.
