It took me a little while to digest the card on Super Tuesday, but a couple of late-night spots are jumping out to me this week in some key games. I’ve looked over the CBB odds and I’ve come to a spot I like with this college basketball betting pick for Tuesday Dec. 22 with the West Virginia – Kansas game.

West Virginia vs. Kansas: West Virginia +2.5 (-110)
The Mountaineers have had some issues on the road in Kansas since joining the Big 12, but this is a different season, and I’m expecting a different result. Both teams only have one loss, and it’s to Gonzaga, so we can’t fault either team there. But West Virginia was able to battle No. 1 ranked Gonzaga tougher, losing by just 5 points, compared to a 12-point loss for Kansas.
The Mountaineers haven’t really had issues with any other opponents so far, while the Jayhawks have been squeaking by often. Kansas is coming off an impressive road victory against Texas Tech, but it sets them up for a letdown spot against an even better West Virginia squad.
Prior to last week’s win over the Red Raiders, Kansas beat Creighton by just 1 and easily would’ve lost if the Blue Jays had hit some free throws. The game before, Kansas almost lost to a now 0-5 North Dakota State team, they but got the 4-point win as 25-point favorites. And in the Champions Classic, Kansas beat a now 1-5 Kentucky team by just 3 points, struggling the entire game.
The Mountaineers are the better team this year, and if there’s a year to steal one on the road, this is it. The atmosphere is far less intimidating for these blue-blood programs. We saw Duke drop consecutive home games on Super Tuesday prior to shutting down non-conference play.
