Week 13 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Quarterbacks: Kirk Cousins & Tua Tagovailoa

By dissecting each matchup for Week 13, we can see how it will positively and negatively impact each quarterback. Keeping tabs on the fantasy football rankings is crucial to know where players are rising and falling throughout the week at any given position. Here are the Week 13 quarterbacks to start and sit.

Week 13 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Quarterbacks

Must Start: Tua Tagovailoa — Dolphins vs. Giants

Tagovailoa ranked first in completion percentage, fourth in passer rating and second in yards per attempt in the month of November. Despite being without Will Fuller and DeVante Parker, Tagovailoa has performed at an elite level. Last week against the Panthers he had 27 completions on 31 attempts for 230 yards and a touchdown. This week they face the Giants defense, and New York is also going to be without Daniel Jones after he injured his neck last week. Their new starter will be Mike Glennon, so Tagovailoa should be able to have more time of possession since Glennon is prone to turnovers.

Must Start: Kirk Cousins — Vikings at Lions

Cousins has had a solid season this year, currently sitting as the QB9. Last week against the 49ers he had 20 completions on 32 attempts for 238 yards, a pair of touchdowns and one interception. That matchup was far less ideal compared to this week’s against the Lions, who rank 30th in pass DVOA. Expect a solid showing out of Cousins this week, with the upside of a top-five fantasy quarterback.

Must Start: Jalen Hurts — Eagles at Jets

By the stat sheet Hurts played terribly last week against the Giants, going 14-for-31 attempts for 129 yards and three interceptions. He also rushed eight times for 77 yards. While that looks bad, much of that difficulty was due to receivers struggling immensely. As long as the ankle injury is no issue for Hurts, he is playable against the Jets.

Must Sit: Mac Jones — Patriots at Bills

With so much buzz surrounding around Mac Jones, many fantasy players will look to him going forward. Last week he carved up the Titans defense for 23 completions on 32 attempts for 310 yards and two touchdowns. However, this week he faces a top-end pass defense in the Bills, who rank first in pass DVOA. With Jones having such little rushing upside if it becomes hard to pass, he may be a lower-end quarterback for the week.

Must Sit: Trevor Lawrence — Jaguars at Rams

Despite being touted as the best quarterback to come out of college since Andrew Luck, Lawrence has struggled this season. Last week against the Falcons he bounced back from three straight weeks of under 10 fantasy points, with 23 completions on 42 attempts for 228 yards, a touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 39 yards. This week he faces the Rams, who have not been playing great defensively in recent weeks. With that said, it is easy to imagine a bounce back for them this week against the Jaguars.
