NFL Best Ball Risers & Fallers: July 17

Best Ball ADP Ranking Risers

Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals): +14.3 — This Week’s Biggest Best Ball Riser
Previous Best Ball ADP: 167.5
Current Best Ball ADP: 153.2

The QB21 on Underdog Fantasy, Kyler Murray has seen his stock jump 14.3 spots up to 153.2, just after Derek Carr and Matthew Stafford. Much of Murray’s ranking comes down to his recovery after tearing his ACL in Week 12 of last season. While little has been revealed on Murray’s status, recent rumblings suggest that he will be healthy sooner rather than later. With Murray’s mobility, anything close to a 17-game season will be a supreme value this late in drafts. Stokastic’s rankings assumed the worst, putting Murray at QB26. However, he will be receiving a bump this week given the recent rumblings.

Cam Akers (Los Angeles Rams): +6.4
Previous Best Ball ADP: 71.8
Current Best Ball ADP: 65.4

Moving up draft boards, Cam Akers jumped 6.4 slots of ADP, putting him at RB21 with an ADP of 65.4. Akers’ jump in ADP likely has to do with people catching up on the Rams roster. Behind Akers, the Los Angeles depth chart consists of Ronnie Rivers, Zach Evans, Kyren Williams and Sony Michel. Rivers had 14 touches last year, Evans is a sixth-round rookie, and Williams went undrafted in 2022 and weighs just 195 pounds. Michel might be completely washed after averaging 2.9 yards per carry last season. While the team has not always committed to Akers, this is one of the weakest backfields in the entire NFL. Akers slots in as Stokastic’s RB23, which is pretty consistent with his current ADP.

Joe Mixon (Cincinnati Bengals): +5.9
Previous Best Ball ADP: 52.0
Current Best Ball ADP: 46.1

After restructuring his contract last week, Joe Mixon saw his ADP jump 5.9 slots to 46.1 overall and RB15. It appears the field has simply gotten more confident in Mixon’s role. Earlier this offseason, rumors circulated regarding Mixon as a suspension or cut candidate. With those rumors behind him, Mixon now stands out as the clear lead back in Cincinnati. The Bengals let Samaje Perine leave this offseason, leaving Trayveon Williams and rookie Chase Brown as the presumed change-of-pace options. Stokastic’s rankings have been aggressive on Mixon all offseason at RB13 overall. While still ahead of ADP, Mixon’s recent rise has narrowed the gap.

Best Ball ADP Ranking Fallers

Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers): -7.6 — This Week’s Biggest Best Ball Faller
Previous Best Ball ADP: 153.2
Current Best Ball ADP: 160.8

Jordan Love’s ADP dropped 7.6 spots on Underdog over the last week. Love is coming off the board 160.8 overall and ranks as the QB22 on the platform. This puts him just behind Murray and just ahead of Kenny Pickett. The fall may simply have to do with positive Murray reports, but Love certainly has concerns. He was widely regarded as an over-drafted prospect, and Love has only started one game in his career. Green Bay also has one of the worst receiving groups in the NFL, headlined by second-year player Christian Watson. While Love has mobility, the concerns remain. Stokastic’s rankings continue to outpace ADP on Love. He ranks as the QB18 based on his rushing upside and weak divisional opponents.

Dalvin Cook (Free Agent): -6.5
Previous Best Ball ADP: 83.4
Current Best Ball ADP: 89.9

After another week of going unsigned, Dalvin Cook fell another 6.5 slots this past week. With an ADP of 89.9, Cook ranks as the RB28. The longer Cook goes unsigned, the farther he will likely fall. The NFL has a shortage of available starting positions at running back. Unless a significant injury occurs between now and the start of the regular season, Cook may have to settle for a committee role. Stokastic’s rankings have Cook at RB29, which puts him right in line with ADP.

Dalton Kincaid (Buffalo Bills): -6.1

Previous Best Ball ADP: 127.5
Current Best Ball ADP: 133.6

Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid saw his ADP fall to 133.6 over the last week. Now the TE13, Kincaid comes off the board just behind Greg Dulcich and just ahead of Dalton Schultz. Kincaid’s evaluation requires some nuance, as rookie tight ends tend to struggle compared to other positions. However, Kincaid was a first-round draft pick and played extensively in the slot during his college career with Utah. Buffalo also has limited pass game options behind Stefon Diggs. This gives Kincaid a wide range of outcomes but clear upside in a Josh Allen-led offense. Stokastic’s rankings have Kincaid at TE13 and slightly behind ADP. This has more to do with the solid options available just behind Kincaid, like Schultz.
