DraftKings Reignmakers Picks: UFC on ESPN 43

Tucker Lutz ($4.25 Core, $17.10 Rare)

After a few weeks of cards littered with massive favorites that needed to be targeted, Saturday’s fights have no favorites listed greater than -300. That makes it a pretty level playing field for those buying packs, as every fighter should have a greater-than-normal playability. Still, that does not mean there are not elite favorites to target for our UFC Reignmakers lineups this week, especially in the Captain spot.

And one of the best fighters to begin builds up top is featherweight Tucker Lutz. Lutz currently sits at -280 on DraftKings in his bout with Daniel Pineda. A former Contender Series standout, Lutz has not fought since 2021, but he has shown a proclivity in the past to accumulate tons of fantasy points with both his striking and his wrestling. But more than likely it will be through his wrestling in this fight, as his opponent in Pineda carries just a 42% takedown defense in his MMA career. So whether Lutz is able to finish this early on his feet or it goes to the cards after a bunch of takedowns, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Lutz does not score well in this fight.

Steven Peterson ($1.97 Core, $7.70 Rare)

It is a little surprising to see Peterson as just a -170 favorite on DraftKings in his fight against Lucas Alexander, but it is providing a discount on his cards. To start, Peterson feels like a safe option to put up fantasy points no matter what, as he has only been finished in one of his 10 losses throughout his MMA career. But he’s accumulated finishes of his own in 13 of his 19 wins, and he has a good chance to pull that off against Alexander, who has shown zero ability to avoid submission losses when fighting better competition. Expect Peterson to have his way with Alexander by getting him to the mat for some ground-and-pound, making him one of the best fighters on the card to target.
