The 2023 Masters Tournament weather report shows we could be in for some unwanted influences for the first major of the PGA season. 2023 Masters Tournament Weather Report

Per The Weather Channel:

Thursday, April 6

This will be the warmest day of the tournament, with temperatures reaching the upper-80s. There is a small chance of scattered storms in the afternoon, but the chance of precipitation remains under 30%. The clouds will persist throughout the day, with winds staying at around 5 MPH.

After Thursday, some poor weather is supposed to move in on Augusta.

Friday, April 7

Rain is expected at Augusta for most of Friday, with a high 80% chance of rain. The chance of thunderstorms and/or heavy rain remains slim, so perhaps the play will go on with some light rain proving to be an annoyance. The temperature is expected in the mid-70s, but a cold front is expected to move in at night.

Saturday, April 8

Moving Day at Augusta is supposed to feature a mix of cold temperatures and rain. Once again, the chance for thunderstorms remains minimal (for now) but the chance of rain is at over 95% for the day. Temperatures are expected to drop to the low-50s with winds at 12-13 MPH.

Sunday, April 9

Sunday is expected to slightly improve from Friday and Saturday. The chance of rain is slightly over 50%, but the rain is expected to move away from Augusta in the afternoon, which could make for a comfortable finish to The Masters. Temperatures are predicted in the low-60s, with winds staying in the 10-15 MPH range.

Monday, April 10 (if needed)

Based on The Masters weather report, we just may need to finish the tournament on Monday for the first time in over 40 years. Luckily, if this is the case, the weather looks just fine. Models have the weather back to to the upper 70s, with just a 30% chance of rain.

The Masters forecast is not ideal for any players or fans in the field, especially not former champion, Jordan Spieth, who admitted that he likes the way Augusta National plays much better when the greens are moving quickly.

“Hopefully we get a firmer, faster Augusta; like it that way,” said Spieth, per CBS Sports. “I’ve played better when it is that way. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be that way. But, you know, if it forces a lot more kind of wedges into the par 5s and some angles because of the cooler temperatures and the moisture in the ground, I can certainly look at that as advantageous to me, too. I’ll just spin it positively however I can.”
