There is just one unique game on each site, so we won’t have to differentiate too much between the two. FanDuel and DraftKings CBB DFS Targets

CBB DFS Guards

Fatts Russell – Rhode Island – FanDuel $8,100 DraftKings $8,700

We open this slate up with the most expensive option at guard on both sites in Russell of the Rhode Island Rams. The Rams face off with the sixth-ranked Dayton Flyers tonight and are currently 10-point underdogs in a game with a 146.5 over/under. Both teams like to get up in pace and Rhode Island ranks 56th of 353 teams in possessions per game. The Flyers are far from a poor defense, but they’re certainly worse on the perimeter and this game is going to be up and down from start to finish. Russell is expensive on both sites, but there’s enough value on this slate to fit him and the upside is huge if Rhode Island can keep it close.

Cole Anthony – North Carolina – FanDuel $7,800 DraftKings $8,500

Anthony returned three games ago and has picked up right where he left off. The superstar freshman is coming off a 24-point, 11-rebound performance against Duke. He ended up with over 40 fantasy points on both sites and smashed value. Anthony and the Tar Heels now face off with Wake Forest, who ranks 211th in defensive efficiency and 91st in pace.

The fast-paced Tar Heels are rarely able to find opponents willing to run with them. Anthony is still priced down on both sites and you can get a decent discount off of Russell. With his minutes not being limited, Anthony has as much upside as anyone on the slate and I’d recommend you being over the field in both cash games and tournaments. He will be the most expensive guard on every slate before long.

Joe Girard III – Syracuse – FanDuel $5,000 DraftKings $5,900

While the freshman point guard may be Syracuse’s fourth-leading scorer, he still plays 32 minutes a game and has the ball in his hands every possession. The minutes have also been inflated of late with at least 36 in three of his last five games. Syracuse relies on Girard as he doesn’t turn the ball over and does a good job of feeding Elijah Hughes and Buddy Boeheim while keeping himself involved. Girard averages 11.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists a game and now faces off with a North Carolina State team that likes to get out and run. This game holds the third-highest total on the board and Syracuse is favored by five points. Girard is an excellent value on both sites, but especially FanDuel.

Tyson Carter – Mississippi State – FanDuel $5,200 DraftKings $5,800

Carter is in play on both sites, but his price on DraftKings certainly stands out. Mississippi State and in-State rival Ole Miss will face off tonight in what Vegas expects to be a highly competitive game. The Bulldogs are just one-point road favorites and this game has a solid 137.5 projected total.

Carter is the Bulldogs’ scoring punch off the bench, but don’t assume that means he has no upside. He has played between 25 and 30 minutes in each of the last eight games and I expect him to see increased minutes against a guard-heavy Mississippi team. Ole Miss plays much faster than Mississippi State and you’re much better off with exposure on the Bulldogs’ side. Carter is priced fairly on both sites and I can get behind him in all formats.

Santiago Vescovi – Tennessee – FanDuel $4,900 DraftKings $6,100

Vescovi has picked up his level of play of late, but his price has yet to rise on either site. The Uruguayan freshman has played just 11 games thus far and has averaged 10.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He’s been over 37 minutes in three of the last four and all signs point to Vescovi playing huge minutes once again in a big game. Opponent Arkansas plays incredibly fast, ranking 40th in the country with 74.6 possessions per game. The Volunteers are going to see a ton of extra possessions and Vescovi will be over 25 fantasy points here. The price is undeniable on FanDuel and I can get behind him on DraftKings as well.

CBB DFS Forwards

Obi Toppin – Dayton – FanDuel $8,300 DraftKings $8,300

On paper, Rhode Island has been the best defensive team in the conference and they have made it incredibly hard on athletic forwards all season long. Cyril Langevine does a great job defensively and the Rams play good help defense on the block. That all goes out the window when Toppin and Dayton come to town. The Flyers rank first in the nation with a 52.1% field goal percentage and it’s going to force the Rams to keep attention elsewhere while Toppin dominates. He may have to work a little harder, but that’s not always a bad thing for a guy who can coast through a lot of games.

Olivier Sarr – Wake Forest – FanDuel $6,700 DraftKings $7,600

Wake Forest plays at one of the fastest paces in the country, ranking 91st with 73 possessions per game. Tonight, they face off with an even faster North Carolina Tar Heels team that plays at the 48th-fastest pace with 74.3 possessions per game. Sarr is going to be necessary against a North Carolina team that ranks in the top five in rebounding. Sarr has been between 25 and 32 fantasy points in each of the last six games and he now gets his best matchup to date. The Tar Heels have both Armando Bacot and Garrison Brooks down low, who require size. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sarr is asked to play an extended load of minutes. His price is fair on both sites and Sarr is a guy I can get behind on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Manny Bates – North Carolina State – FanDuel $4,600 DraftKings $4,900

D.J. Funderburk is questionable to play in this game and Bates ended up playing 29 minutes last game with Funderburk getting injured midway through the game. He ended up scoring 30 fantasy points with 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. He’s everywhere on the floor and is going to excel in this fast-paced matchup. Bates will see minutes in the 30s tonight if Funderburk is ruled out and the matchup against Syracuse is a great one. The majority of their punch comes at guard and Bates should put up a fantasy point per minute at the very least.

Armando Bacot – North Carolina – FanDuel $7,000 DraftKings $7,000

Garrison Brooks is currently questionable for this game, and Bacot is one of my top forwards if he’s ruled out. The big man will be asked to play huge minutes against a Wake Forest team that plays fast and struggles down low. Bacot’s ceiling has been limited because of Brooks, and he has the potential to put up huge numbers with him out of the lineup. I love targeting this game in tournaments as both teams rank in the top 100 in pace and Vegas expects the game to be extremely close. The Deacons opened as a one-point favorite and the public has flipped it to North Carolina by a point. Bacot is a lock for value if Brooks is out.

Isaiah Mucius – Wake Forest – FanDuel $3,900 DraftKings $4,400

Mucius only saw 12 minutes in his last game, but the big man played at least 26 minutes in each of the previous four games and his size will be necessary to deal with North Carolina. He also has great athleticism and will do a good job of staying with the bigs on the Tar Heels. Mucius is far too cheap on both sites and he’s easily my favorite value play at forward. I prefer him in tournaments, but sometimes you have to play someone in cash games when it isn’t necessarily comfortable.
