That means that Wentz will be out anywhere from until Week 2 of the NFL season all the way until Week 9. If ligament issues are more serious, the recovery time could be closer to that Week 9 return. Knowing his timetable to return can be anywhere from Week 2 to Week 9, drafting Wentz seems untenable. Wentz was already an uninspiring quarterback, and now with the potential missed time, it is best to look elsewhere.
Jonathan Taylor’s Value: Up, Down or No Change?
This is where opinions will very much differ. Some believe that Taylor will be fine regardless of quarterback, others believe that he is a player to stay clear of in the first round. When drafting a player in the first round, it is best to take things as safely as possible. There is no real way to win leagues in the first round, but there are ways to lose it. One of those ways is taking a high risk with that selection. With Jacob Eason at quarterback, a high risk is exactly what Taylor is. Even with a top-tier offensive line, the Colts will struggle to move the ball effectively. It is pretty easy to stack the box all the time if the other team has an elite running back but a mediocre quarterback. However, if the Colts elect to bring in Gardner Minshew II or Nick Foles, that may change.

The Colts are filled with late-round dart throws at wide receiver such as Michael Pittman Jr, Parris Campbell, and Ty Hilton. But now with the injury to Wentz, none of them have much appeal. Again, if Indianapolis brings in other options at quarterback, then that can change.
The Final Ruling
This is just a terrible situation for fantasy football. Even with the prior assumptions that Wentz will not be some world beater, it really dampens the whole offense. Until the Colts look to Minshew or Foles, stay clear away from the Colts offense in fantasy football.
