Week 10 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Wide Receivers: Robert Woods & Mike Williams

Looking towards Week 10 of the NFL fantasy football season, we will examine all of the matchups and discern the positive or negative impact that a given matchup will have on the wide receivers. Below are the best fantasy football start ’em/sit ’em options for Week 10 NFL matchups.

Week 10 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Wide Receivers

Must Start: Michael Pittman Jr. — Colts vs. Jaguars

Pittman is a must-start wide receiver weekly at this point. Last week against the Jets he put up five receptions on six targets for 64 yards and a touchdown, and he now has four touchdowns over the last three games. And this week he gets a promising matchup against the Jaguars. The Jaguars defense was solid last week against the Bills, but that was more of a flash in the pan as opposed to a trend. Fire up Pittman with confidence this week

Must Start: Hunter Renfrow — Raiders vs. Chiefs

Without Henry Ruggs, Renfrow has an even stronger stranglehold over the Raiders receiving core. Last week against the Giants he had seven receptions on nine targets for 49 yards and a touchdown. This week he faces the Chiefs, who rank 30th in pass DVOA. As long as Renfrow continues to see a solid target share, he is a safe play in this matchup.

Must Start: Robert Woods — Rams at 49ers

While Woods had a very slow start to the season, recently he has caught fire. Even with Cooper Kupp putting up top-tier numbers weekly, Woods has gotten more targets recently. Last week in a loss against the Titans he had seven receptions on 10 targets for 98 yards. He has also been involved in the run game, peaking at three carries for 22 yards and a touchdown in Week 8. This week he faces the 49ers, who were destroyed by Colt McCoy and the Cardinals in Week 9, so roll out Woods here.

Must Sit: Mike Williams — Chargers vs. Vikings

Williams has not scored over 7 half-PPR points in the last three games. Last week against the Eagles he had just two receptions on five targets for 58 yards. With the wide receiver position being so deep in fantasy football, there is virtually no reason to continue to play Williams until he turns this around. Keenan Allen has put up solid numbers, while Williams has been a huge disappointment. Even against the Vikings, look elsewhere this week.

Must Sit: DeVonta Smith — Eagles at Broncos

Smith had an explosive game against the Chargers, with five receptions on six targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. But despite his flashes, he has been inconsistent. This inconsistency matched with the Broncos defense looking solid means it is best to wait another week before playing Smith with confidence.

Must Sit: Jakobi Meyers — Patriots vs. Browns

Meyers has played in 38 games and has yet to score a touchdown. Since that severely hampers his upside, Meyers is not a reliable receiver play. Last week against the Panthers he had one reception on four targets for 8 yards. The ceiling is simply not there for Meyers, so leave him on the bench.
