Our core plays were a mixed bag last week. We nailed a top-3 finisher and had one in the top thirty, but that was offset by two golfers who failed to make any impact in PGA DFS contests. We’ll have to improve upon those results with this week PGA DFS core play picks on DraftKings for the AT&T Byron Nelson.
K.H. Lee has won this event in back-to-back years with winning scores of -25 and -26, respectively. TPC Craig Ranch yields one of the highest birdie rates on the PGA TOUR, so we should expect a similar winning score this year. Scottie Scheffler is clearly the top play in the field and theirs not much else to say. The question to play him or not is a matter of your risk tolerance. He’ll likely be over 40% owned, so be sure to differentiate any of your lineups that include the No. 2 player in the world. You can use Stokastic’s fantasy point and Ownership projections and Top Golfer’s tool to help you plan around Scheffler. Now, Let’s dive in to the rest of the PGA DFS core.

PGA DFS Core Plays for AT&T Byron Nelson
Tyrrell Hatton – $10,100, DraftKings
Tyrrell Hatton was one of the golfers featured in this article last week and he did not disappoint. Hatton finished in a tie for third place that marked his 4th top six finish in his last eight event. I’m riding the momentum again this week.Â

Jason Day – $9,400, DraftKings
Jason Day is back. He’s had an excellent start to his 2023 campaign, with four top-10 finishes in his last seven starts. Day ranks 14th in Strokes Gained on Approach. He’s top-5 in both Birdie or Better percentage and Bogey Avoidance over his last fifty rounds. The only question mark is that he missed the cut at last week’s Wells Fargo. Day cited a return of his vertigo as the cause of his poor play. If Day can put that behind him, he should be a solid contender at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
Stephen Jaeger – $8,200, DraftKings
Stephen Jaeger presents a compelling option this week, despite his recent struggles with the putter. While Jaeger lost strokes on the green in ten straight events, he still managed to make eight of ten cuts, finishing inside the top-30 four times.Â
GPP Flier – Justin Suh – $7,600, DraftKings
Numerous players in the $7,000 price range are projecting for over 10% ownership in PGA DFS for this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson. But Justin Suh appears to be getting overlooked. He has shown flashes of upside with impressive finishes of 6th place at the PLAYERS Championship in March and a 5th place finish at the Honda Classic in February. Suh ranks 10th in this field over the last 24 rounds in Birdie or Better percentage, highlighting his ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. That’s a must
for contending at this event. He’s also has made fourteen straight cuts dating back to October of last year, demonstrating some nice consistency.
