UFC 259 Blachowicz vs. Adesanya Daily Fantasy MMA Analysis

It’s important to analyze the weigh-ins, especially when you hear the fights are in Las Vegas. The UFC has some tough luck at the APEX with fights falling out, but this weigh-in was mostly professional. I’m happy to announce that most of the fighters on the card made weight without issue. Askar Askarov was the only fighter who missed weight, and it was by a single pound. When a fighter refuses to cut a small amount of weight it could be an indicator of a rough weight cut, or already feeling the effects of the cut.

All three title fights are official, leaving the strongest card of the year unscathed. Israel Adesanya weighed in at 200.5 lbs and held a pizza box for the camera. Adesanya has the height and length for the division, but is clearly at a strength disadvantage against Jan Blachowicz.

In the co-main event on the card, we’ll see Amanda Nunes face off against her tall and lean adversary, Megan Anderson. The stature of Anderson is evident, but I don’t think it will matter in the contest.

The first title fight of the evening features Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan, both whom looked impressive on the scale and couldn’t stop jawing at each other.

The rest of the fighters looked pretty good, and exactly how it should be at the highest professional level. Some other highlights to point out: Tim Elliot was energetic and wouldn’t stop talking to Jordan Espinosa who met him with equal intensity. Livinha Souza was underwhelming on the scale. All in all, I’m excited that we didn’t run into the typical APEX issues and there is officially a complete fight card. Good luck everyone!
