Steve “dacoltz” Buzzard is not the only Stokastic MLB DFS pro pulling wins — everyone’s favorite Stokastic host Josh Engleman (sorry to Loughy, et al) is getting in on the action as well. On Saturday night Josh took down the DraftKings MLB $150K Relay Throw Early Slate contest, netting himself $50,000 with the win! Let’s take a look at Josh’s $50,000-winning DraftKings lineup:
Josh rolled with the chalky one-two punch for his pitchers, turning to two of the top options in Framber Valdez and Luis Castillo. Both proved to be good chalk, with each picking up the win and going six innings; though, the second-place lineup utilized the same combination.
Where Josh put distance between himself and the field was his excellent Minnesota Twins five-man stack that featured just one dud in Joey Gallo. Edouard Julien, Matt Wallner and Willi Castro combined to hit four home runs while driving in six runs, and Alex Kirilloff added two more hits and another RBI. And while the third-place lineup had a couple of those guys as well, Josh finished off his lineup with a few high-priced options in Salvador Perez and Trea Turner that did enough to make their salaries worthwhile.
All told, this Twins stack was pretty cheap and contrarian — and since they blew up with nine runs on Saturday, that proved to be the best combination possible. As a result, Josh cleared the second-place lineup by a whopping 15 fantasy points. The runner-up ended up being closer in fantasy score to eighth place than he was to Josh.
